Sophie Arkell

Sophie Arkell is recognized as a dedicated horsewoman who has been riding since she was two years old, and she currently competes in college-level rodeo as a barrel racer, representing the Cal Poly Rodeo Team, a nationally respected collegiate rodeo program. Alongside her academic and athletic commitments, Sophie also created the Central Coast Barrel Racing Association (CCBRA). She produces races at Varian Equestrian and contributes her skills to the local equestrian community. Her deep experience extends to training horses under saddle, trail riding, and coaching students from beginner to intermediate levels, making her a valued member of both the rodeo and teaching teams at the Varian Equestrian Center in Arroyo Grande, California.
